Pavlova...Simply Magic

Ahh, Pavlova is my all-time favourite treat! I don't eat it a lot so when I do have some Pav it's a special moment for me ;)

Do I make my own meringue? When I first got married I used to make everything from scratch but then time became short when the kids came along. I've been buying shells for a while now but I want to be able to tell people that I made the meringue and feel proud:) The solution:

It's not Fairy Magic..... it's Pavlova Magic! I know, these have been around for years but I've been to much of a snob to buy one! Honesty, I thought I was above buying these 'cos I could make a Pavlova from scratch. *ashamed*

How easy is this: Put the mix in the bowl. Fill the bottom part of the egg with warm water and put it in with the mix. Beat for a few minutes. Put sugar in the top part of the egg and then pour a little at a time in the mix. That is it basically. Why didn't I try this earlier!

Okay, there is one downside to this pavlova mix. It REALLY stinks!  The smell does go away....after it's cooked and cooled. Oh, it takes about 1 hour in the oven to cook and then you need to let it cool in the oven so that took about 2 hours.

Mango, strawberries, blueberries and passionfruit.

And how much cream do I put on my pavlova?

A LOT! Half and half and proud of it! Sometimes I'll add a little more cream after i've got my slice. What can i say, I love cream.

I'll be adding a few of these magic eggs to my food storage because I think they will be great to have on hand.
